After all of this, I am still left with questions…
- What caused the Thymoma?
- Why did it grow so fast?
- Why was it so big?
- What can I do to prevent another tumor or unknown auto immune disease?
I will continue to search for answers until I have found something that makes sense. I plan to get back in with my Rheumatologist here in Nashville. Dr. Victor Byrd was the one that originally suggested the Mayo Clinic and always tried to help me find the cause of my symptoms.
What is interesting is that my aunt had a dime size tumor on her thymus gland and her thymus gland was removed because she has Myasthenia Gravis. At the Mayo Clinic, they did extensive testing, including Electromyography testing, which is little electric shocks to test your muscle tissues and all of my tests were normal.
Research shows that Thymomas are usually linked to auto immune diseases and in my massive amounts of testing through out 2019, I tested negative for all auto immune diseases….so what caused it?
As I am writing this, I am in my ninth week post-op and as I recover, I will continue to update this blog with how it goes.
